Page Three
What's a Unicorn without a Horn? Click on the Horn ellipse, and drag it onto the head. If it looks like it's behind the ears (like mine was) right click, then choose, Arrange, Bring to Top. Now click Node Edit again, click on the top node, and drag the two arrows down, the same way you made the yop of the ear. Then, click on the bottom node, go to Edit, Break, and then move the two nodes away from each other, the same way you made the bottom of the ear. Ctrl + Q to quit node editing. Now for the fun part. What color do you want the horn to be? In the Tool Options Box, you'll see a button called Properties. Click this button, and another box pops up, called "Vector Properties". From here you can choose a solid color, texture, or gradient for the fill color of your unicorn's horn. If you like the gold gradient I used in the title image, you can find it (and a lot of other really pretty gradients) at Dawn's Den. I used one of her Purple Gradients, Angle 90, Repeats 0. Here's what it looks like:
Now let's move on to the legs. Click on the Leg ellipse, and move it onto the body, Then click on Node Edit. Click on the node at the top, and choose, Edit, Break, as you've done before. move the two nodes away from each other, like this:
Now click on the bottom node and move the two ends of the arrow outward, like this:
Now, move the nodes at the center on the left and right sides slightly toward each other, like this:
Now, click on the one of the nodes again, and move both ends of the arrow slightly toward the outside edge of the image, and then do the same with the other side, like this:
If you think your unicorn's leg looks too fat or too thin, just move nodes and arrows around until you get the effect you want. On the next page, we'll make the hoof for our little guy, don't worry that he's only got one leg for now, we'll fix that after we make the hoof. Questions? Comments?
